The Laragh United club member Maggie Farrelly from Cavan will make history this weekend as the first female to referee an Allianz Football League game between Leitrim and London in Carrick-on-Shannon.
We all know about Joy Neville that has refereed a few games in rugby and how good is it to see the GAA follow suit with Maggie Farrelly taking charge and going in the middle for a senior inter county game. She has done a few club games already including a county final in Cavan. But this will be a good test for her now and we wish her the very best of luck.
