“Not good news” – Jurgen Klopp on Man United appointing Ralf Rangnick

Jurgen Klopp has given his take on the impending appointment of Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United.

Rangnick has been earmarked by the Man United board as the right man to take Man United forward, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having been dismissed at the tail end of last week.

Predictably, Klopp was quizzed over the impending arrival of Rangnick in the Premier League in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

Klopp isn’t best pleased with Rangnick’s appointment at Old Trafford – because he sees him as a threat:

“Unfortunately a good coach is coming to England, to Manchester United! He’s a really experienced manager, built two clubs from nowhere.”

Unfortunately, we fear that the so-called Man United ‘banter era’ may well be coming to an end. The club have made an astute decision in appointing Rangnick, with a view to him moving upstairs.

March 19th at Anfield is the first scheduled meeting between Klopp and Rangnick. That may well be one of the most intriguing tactical battles in recent memory…
