Kilcoo progressed to the Down SFC final for the 12th successive season, but their 11-point win over Clonduff was overshadowed by a series of mass brawls in stoppage-time at Páirc Esler on Sunday night.

In total referee Conor Curran issued four red cards late on to Kilcoo’s Niall Branagan and Clonduff trio Ross Car, Darren O’Hagan and Eamon Brown.

Yet, there could be further repercussions in the coming days with a late brawl threatening to spill over into the main stand at the Newry venue.
