Amir Khan accuses rival Kell Brook of RACISM over comment made about his chin

Amir Khan has accused Kell Brook of RACISM over a comment he made about his chin.

Khan and Brook will be meeting in the ring this Saturday to settle their long-time feud.

The pair have been rivals for many a year, but never before have they been successful in reaching an agreement to go toe-to-toe in the boxing ring.

Now everything is signed and sealed, with both fighters making it through their respective camps unscathed, we can now begin to get excited about Saturday’s fight.

Ahead of the bout, though, Khan has attempted to get in the mind of his opponent by using the press conference as a platform to accuse him of racism.

Here’s what he had to say, quoted by The Sun: “I saw a video that Kell did the other day where he said he was going to smash my ‘poppadom chin’.”

“That sounded racist to me, I want to know why he said that.”

The phrase ‘papadam chin’ has frequently been used to describe fighters who are unable to take a punch. There are no racial undertones to it.

Khan has used this deliberately to tarnish his rival ahead of the fight. It remains to be seen if he’ll be successful in riling Brook up and making him lose focus.
