Richard Keys has taken to Twitter to slam Karren Brady and West Ham for their attempts to let Kurt Zouma off the hook.
Zouma sparked outrage earlier in the week after a video of him abusing his cat went viral. His animals were subsequently seized by the RSPCA, with the player being fined £250k by West Ham and losing his sponsorship deal with Adidas.
Still, David Moyes decided to field Zouma on Tuesday night and revealed in his Friday press conference that he will again be available for selection as the Hammers take on Leicester City tomorrow afternoon.
Moyes compared Zouma’s actions to drink driving offences and attempted to justify West Ham’s half-hearted attempts to punish the player for his abhorrent behaviour towards a defenceless animal.

It’s safe to say that Richard Keys is not best impressed. He loaded up Twitter to take aim at Karren Brady and West Ham for failing to adequately punish Zouma in line with the seriousness of his actions.
This is hilarious. When did you decide this was the case @karren_brady ? Was it when you realised a £30m asset might get cancelled? You didn’t feel this way a few years back when you were spreading your nonsense. Looking forward to seeing Paul at the WC 👍🏼. pic.twitter.com/HxZeRZFQRH

It is ridiculous for @WestHam & @karren_brady to try to excuse Zouma. No – it’s not like a driving offence. There are consequences for that – you get banned for a year. Zouma is still playing. He’ll earn another £250,000 in a fortnight. It’s a disgrace. He shouldn’t be playing.

Zouma being able to play for West Ham while all this is going on behind the scenes sends the wrong message to the younger generation about the significance of the issue. Keys is absolutely right – for once.
