As we’re coming towards the business end of the club championship at the moment, there was a familiar face playing for Dingle against Mid-Kerry in the form of Aussie Rules player Mark O’Connor.Â

Mark O’Connor in the last five minutes was immense. The second of these two kickouts came straight after he caught the first. His positional play all game, and the way he controlled the tempo – unreal for a guy only a week back in the country. pic.twitter.com/gmaCWgkhvq

Here are some of the comments online ..
Whatever about somebody that trained all year seating on the bench to accommodate this cameo, I can never agree on a full time professional athlete being allowed to compete against amateurs
Bit of a joke really. He made his choice years ago. What about the guy who lost out on a place today?
Kerry would be well in the 40s in All Irelands had he been around & Jim Gavin would have been spared his presidential run!
Professional athlete dominates amateur game!! not that surprising really, lad who made way for him must be fairly annoyed
Leads with his knee into the opponent’s back for the first catch. Typical of AFL coaching 🤔

Not sure if he would have made much of a difference in the Jim Gavin era . Dublin we’re just a better team then
I agree Mark shouldn’t be allowed play he’s a pro athlete now and it is unfair on local lad that was dropped .it’s the win at all costs mentality, not right double standards by the club.
