Keith Ricken is the new Cork senior football manager taking over from Ronan McCarthy who stepped down from his role at the end of the summer. Keith Ricken has come through the underage set up with Cork where he has had great success. Is he the right man to lead Cork back to some of the good days? Cork won the football All-Ireland back in 2010 against Down in the final after defeating Dublin in the Semi-final.

That’s the last time Cork have won and Ireland in senior mens be it Hurling or Gaelic football. It’s been a famine for Cork GAA, a county the size of Cork with such a huge tradition in both codes should be winning more All-Ireland’s then they have as of late. Is Keith Ricken the right man to bring Cork back to the top level of the game again though? He will certainly have his hands full in trying to get the best out off some of the exciting new talent that is coming through Cork football.
