The Liverpool manager has revealed that the Egyptian winger is set to travel back to Merseyside after suffering an injury during AFCON.
Mohamed Salah’s tournament was cut short when he was forced off the pitch just before halftime during his side’s 2-2 draw with Ghana earlier in the week.
It was later revealed that the winger had suffered an injury to his hamstring and would be ruled out of the next two games if they do reach the round of 16.
When questioned about the issue, Jurgen Klopp revealed that the plan is for him to be treated in Liverpool for the time being.
‘However long he is out, it probably makes sense for everybody to (rehab) with us and our people. That’s the plan. If that’s written in stone already, I don’t know.’ He said.
‘He’s contacted our doctor and the doc tells me the news. So… I think he will (be back).
‘I’m not a medic. I’m not a doctor. I would say if Egypt qualifies for the final then probably yes (he could go back).’
