Jurgen Klopp makes HUGE top four admission ahead of season’s run-in

Jurgen Klopp isn’t too optimistic about his side’s top four chances ahead of their final set of games this season.

Liverpool may be just four points behind Man United with four games left to play, but with the Red Devils having a game in hand on Klopp and his side, they have a chance to extend that lead to seven points, which could be a bridge too far to cross for Liverpool.

Speaking in his pre-Brentford press conference yesterday (quotes via The Sun), the German boss said that a few more wins for United and Liverpool won’t be getting into the top four, no matter how many games they themselves win.

I’ve said it before, other teams are in much better positions as long as they win football games and we have to keep teams behind us.

We have 59 points and United have 63, so we can get 71 maximum and for that, United need just eight points. So if they win three games it’s over for us.

Liverpool play Brentford this evening and have to win to stay in with a chance of gaining what Klopp believes is impossible, while United face a tough trip to West Ham tomorrow.
