Anthony Joshua is reportedly missing out on a whopping £85m by stepping into the ring with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday.
The much-anticipated bout between Joshua and Usyk will be taking place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend, with fans intrigued as to how the action promises to unfold.
Joshua has cut, Usyk has bulked. Both fighters will be finding themselves in uncharted territory to some extent, which makes it difficult to predict what’s in store.
English boxing fans will be crossing their fingers that AJ can get through it unscathed in order to ensure his proposed unification bout with Tyson Fury comes to fruition.
The Joshua camp will likely be hoping for that, too, with the Daily Star revealing just how big a payday he is missing out on by fighting Usyk before Fury.
The report notes that Joshua will bank ‘just’ £15m from fighting Usyk, while the fight with Fury would be worth an estimated £100m once the PPVs are counted.
That is quite ridiculous money, with Joshua shelving the possibility of earning £85m more by taking the fight with Usyk. He’ll be hoping that he gets it eventually…
