Anthony Joshua has posted on social media for the first time since Tyson Fury’s victory over Deontay Wilder.
Earlier in 2021, everything looked set for Joshua to meet Fury in a fight that would see a unified heavyweight champion of the world crowned.
The plans, which included a bout in Saudi Arabia, fell through after Fury was ordered by a court to face Wilder in their eventual trilogy bout.
As a result, Joshua instead fought WBO mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk. We all know how that ended for him.
With Fury having triumphed over Wilder with an 11th round knockout, it wouldn’t have been a surprise to hear from AJ in wake of the fight.
Yet, all we had was radio silence… until now. Joshua sent out the below tweet, which is rather ambiguous.

Joshua appears to have completely brushed over Fury v Wilder III and has instead decided to focus on himself – which is probably the right decision.
He has no choice but to defeat Usyk in their spring rematch if he wants to continue to compete at this level. There can be no distractions from the task at hand.
The general consensus is that AJ has little hope of out-boxing Usyk. He needs to be more proactive and impose himself, using his superior punch-power to hurt the Ukrainian.
Easier said than done, of course…
