Jose Gimenez caught in ANGER FUELLED ATTACK on match officials following World Cup elimination

Uruguay were eliminated from the World Cup in dramatic fashion yesterday evening, as a 2-0 victory over Ghana in their final group match was not enough for them to progress after South Korea beat Portugal 2-1 to advance at their expense.

They leave the tournament at the group stage for the first time since 2002 and footage has recently emerged of defender Jose Gimenez berating the match officials after his side had a couple of penalty claims turned down during the match.

Sons of bi****es” and “thieves” were just a couple of insults thrown at the officials by the 27-year-old, while he was also suspected of shoving an official in the back of his head with his elbow.

It remains to be seen whether Gimenez will be reprimanded for his actions, with the post-match scenes casting another cloud over the team’s elimination from a tournament that they certainly could have gone far in had their early performances in the group stages been better.
