Great news for Irish and Leinster rugby fans as Jonathan Sexton has signed on to extend his contract with the IRFU until June 2022. The Out-half has played with Leinster and Ireland since 2006, although the Dubliner did head to Paris for two years to play with Racing 92 in 2013-2015 seasons.
The out-half is now 35 years of age but continues to be a vital player for the Irish and Leinster team. A lot of players within the Irish set up like Billy Burns, Jack Carty and even Ian Madigan have been given their chance to put some pressure on the Irish out-half but have all failed to do so.
Sexton currently has 97 caps for Ireland is three away from the big 100 he is also the current Irish captain and vital player within Andy Farrell’s squad. Ireland had a good win last Saturday against Italy in Rome winning out 48 points to ten against a stubborn Italian side.
