The former Greenwood FC player John Egan sits down and talks to us about representing Ireland and his club Sheffield United. John has won 18 caps for Ireland and at 29 years of age he has some great days to come in the green of Ireland and red and white of The Blades. It’s a great listen of a player that really had to tough it out to reach the top, John had injury setbacks and had to move clubs, but stuck with it and managed to turn into a top, top professional.
John has a big year ahead with Sheffield United as he looks to get The Blades back into the Premier League. Ireland also have some big game coming up under Stephen Kenny, where the former Dundalk manager will hope get Ireland into a major tournament.
John Egan is a Cork native and son of the famous Kerry footballer John Egan who won six All-Ireland’s with the Kingdom. We wish John every success with The Blades and will be shouting him on with Ireland in 2022.
