The former Derry forward and RTE pundit Joe Brolly takes aim at the GAA over year after year making the weaker teams compete at a level that they just can’t anymore. Leitrim were absolutely hammered by Mayo on Sunday on a scoreline of 5-20 to 0-11 points in fairness even a blind man can see now that the structure of the Championship is unfair and needs to be changed for the better of the game and everyone involved in Gaelic football. It’s about time the GAA sort this out before even more people loss interest in Gaelic football.

This is most unfair. Really it is a disgrace. Leitrim being humiliated. Everyone’s time being wasted. Commentary & punditry team forced to go into patronising mode (“Leitrim giving it their best”, “Lovely effort by Dolan, really deserved a point”). GAA ought to be ashamed.

It is enraging that the GAA inflicts this humiliation year in year out on small counties that are working so hard to keep communities healthy and playing the games.

Time to move with the times and change according to what you see, this can be hard for the GAA as we know.
