Joao Felix has made the admission that everyone has been pronouncing his name wrong in both Spain and England.
Felix revealed the truth in his press conference before his Chelsea side’s Champions League second leg against Borussia Dortmund, admitting that nobody has been saying it right.
“Everyone says ‘Fee-lix’ even in Spain. Only in Portugal do they say it correctly. I don’t know why, it’s not too hard to spell. But yeah, it’s Joao ‘Feh-lix‘.”
However, the mispronunciation doesn’t seem to bother the young forward too much – when asked if it annoys him when he hears people say it wrong, he replied: “Nah, not really. I don’t care.”
