Wolves striker Raul Jimenez was sent off in the most bizarre of circumstances during his side’s trip to the Etihad this afternoon.
Wolves faced an uphill task as it was heading away to the champions. The last thing that Bruno Lage would have wanted was to be down to ten men for the entire second half of the contest.
However, following a moment of pure madness from their talisman Raul Jimenez, the referee was left with absolutely no choice but to send the striker off and further complicate the assignment.
Jimenez was initially booked for a bad challenge, a yellow card that will have had millions of FPL managers with their fists clenched. What followed will have seen them put their fists through the tele.
Jimenez decided it’d be a good idea to prevent the Man City free-kick from being played, just a matter of seconds after he picked up his initial yellow card. It resulted in him being shown a red card.
What was he thinking?
