Jason Cundy makes BOLD statement regarding Manchester United’s player management

Marcus Rashford looks a man reborn. After three goals at the World Cup for England as he helped his nation reach the quarter-finals, he scored a superb solo effort against Burnley on Wednesday in the League Cup, running all the way from the halfway line before slotting home from inside the box.

Last season, his Manchester United future looked in doubt after struggling to find any sort of consistent form but now he looks back to his best.

On Talksport Drive yesterday, Jason Cundy said that he believes Manchester United as a club let Rashford down before Erik ten Hag joined the Red Devils.

Rashford falls into the category of players who have been mismanaged and miscoached along with the likes of [Harry] Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Wan-Bisakka.

I think the decision of Utd’s to give Solskjaer the permanent job when they did meant that those players suffered.

Now, they’ve got a proper manager, a top coach. Someone who believes in them and I think the problem we are seeing with Rashford is that the managers who he has played under haven’t got the best out of him and he has been a victim of that.”

Rashford’s upturn in form comes at the perfect time, with the club triggering a one year-extension in his contract meaning he will remain at the club beyond next season.
