The former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher came out strong in his defence of his former England teammate and now England manager Gareth Southgate last night as the Three Lions suffered their worst home defeat since 1928!
After the game Carragher was adamant that Southgate has over achieved if anything, but the Manchester United fan Mark Goldbridge reckons if England had a better manager they would be doing a lot better, then what they are.

And a half decent manager would have won the Euros. Name a Premier League club that would give him a job.

It’s a fair point that Goldbridge makes, the question has to be asked if England had a better squad, where would they be now? Would they have won, one of those major tournaments. I’d believe so and you really have to wonder is Southgate the right man to lead England to the World Cup this winter.
