The Liverpool legend has claimed that the Dutch manager is ‘on trial’ at Manchester United until the end of the season after the latest INEOS investment.
Erik ten Hag got off to a strong start after arriving at the start of last season, eventually leading the Red Devils to a Carabao Cup and third place in the Premier League.
But the form of the club has dipped dramatically this year with Manchester United currently sitting in eighth place and out of the Champions League.
Speaking in his column with the Telegraph, Jamie Carragher claimed that Ten Hag is ‘on trial’ until the end of the season.
‘Erik ten Hag is on trial as Manchester United manager since the Ineos ‘takeover’. He is effectively an interim coach until the end of the season.’ He wrote.
‘Unless there is a significant upturn in results and performances, he will have to go.’
