Jack Grealish says he REGRETS Miguel Almiron comments

Jack Grealish has apologised to Newcastle winger, Miguel Almiron after his comments earlier in the year.

After Manchester City won their 6th Premier League title in May of this year, the team went out to celebrate the historic moment. Grealish who was present at the party thought it would be a good idea to jump into Bernardo Silva’s video.

The winger spoke about their comeback win against Aston Villa and then ridiculed his teammate, Riyad Mahrez, by comparing him to Almiron.

“There were two secrets. number one, Riyad, taking him off the pitch, as soon as possible. He played like Almiron yesterday,” said Grealish.

Since the video emerged back in May, the tables have turned. Grealish has been struggling to find form, whereas Almiron has lit the league on fire. With eight goals in 14 games for Newcastle, the Paraguay winger has been one of the standout players of the season so far.

As you would expect, Grealish has received a lot of abuse since the season started.

But the 27-year-old has now publicly apologised for his remarks and regrets the situation entirely.

“When I said earlier that sometimes I do stupid stuff, that was one, I regret that,” Grealish said.

“I swear, I’m buzzing the way he’s reacted. He said something about me in the interview the other day, he wished me the best.

“I thought ‘what a guy, man’ because if that was me and somebody had said that about me, I’d have probably been the other way and been like ‘f*** it’.”

Grealish then stated that he didn’t have a problem with the criticism that he has been receiving from the Newcastle faithful.

“I thought it was just private but even in private I shouldn’t have said it because he’s a fellow professional,” he said.

“I’m actually buzzing for him. I’ve had a lot of stick off the Newcastle fans and rightly so.”

Grealish is trying to focus on his international career with England, as they prepare to play Senegal on Sunday.
