🚨‘It’s done’ – Anthony Joshua set for return in blockbuster showdown in Africa

Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom has claimed the fight between Anthony Joshua and Martin Bakole is ‘done’.

At the weekend Shalom spoke to talkSPORT and revealed his man will be next to face the former world champion.

He said: “The promoter of Martin Bakole that’s what I want to be known as.”

“The number one heavyweight in the world.”

“It’s done. I’m hearing he’s signed and we’re off to the Congo,” Shalom added.

Bakole, has an impressive record of 21-1 with 16 KOs and has been largely avoided in his career.

Last August, he absolutely battered American heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson stopping him in the fifth round of a one sided beatdown.

His one defeat in the professional ranks was against Michael Hunter in 2018 but he has won 10 in a row since then.

Meanwhile, Joshua was brutally knocked out in his attempt to claim the IBF title from Daniel Dubois in September.

It was thought a fight between him and Fury could finally happen, but ‘The Gypsy King’s’ recent retirement has scuppered those plans for now.

His Excellency, Turki Alalshikh had also suggested that Deontay Wilder could be a possible opponent for ‘AJ’.

Who would you like Joshua to face next? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Shallom made that comment about the fight being a done deal without even talking to AJs promoter, Eddy Hearn hasn’t spoke to or received an offer from Shallom, therefore what Shallom has said is rubbish and AJ isn’t fighting Bakole (yet)!!!
