Irishman JD McDonagh made his WWE Raw debut last night in big style

This week’s Raw saw the latest Irish performer make his main roster debut in WWE, with JD McDonagh making an instant impact in attacking Dolph Ziggler.

The 33-year-old was moved to the red brand from NXT in this year’s WWE Draft, but only debuted this week in a battle royale to determine the next challenger for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship.

After being eliminated by Ziggler, the so-called “Irish Ace” viciously attacked the WWE veteran on the outside of the ring, putting him into the steel steps and then using the steps to inflict further punishment.

Later in the show, teases were made regarding McDonagh joining countryman and fellow Bray native Finn Balor’s Judgement Day faction, something that has been rumoured for several months.

It will be fascinating to see where McDonagh goes on the main roster but feuding with a certain Hall of Famer and possibly joining one of the show’s hottest acts in the coming weeks is definitely a good place to start.

On top of McDonagh and Balor, Ireland is represented by Becky Lynch and lead commentator Kevin Patrick (real-life Kevin Egan) on Raw, while Sheamus holds the fort down on Smackdown.
