The 27 year old back-row Dan Leavy has had to make the announcement today to retire from professional rugby. Awful news, the Leinster man was a serious back-row player and had an awful injury that he just couldn’t get over. He has been advised on medial advise to step away from the game, he will be missed and you can only imagine how good he would have been if he didn’t have that one bad incident.

Dan Leavy was a generational talent who burned so bright in 2018 before being robbed of his best years by a sport that didn't protect him
An absolute titan

Awful news that Dan Leavy has been forced to retire due to injury.
An absolute force of nature at his best in 2018 when he was such a key part of Ireland’s Grand Slam success.
Huge loss to Irish rugby.
