The 27 year old back-row Dan Leavy has had to make the announcement today to retire from professional rugby. Awful news, the Leinster man was a serious back-row player and had an awful injury that he just couldn’t get over. He has been advised on medial advise to step away from the game, he will be missed and you can only imagine how good he would have been if he didn’t have that one bad incident.

Dan Leavy played 11 times for Ireland and never lost. He retires a Grand Slam winner, a Heineken Cup and URC winner and played a part in a series win over Australia.
Good luck to him in regiment and his new Whiskey business venture.
