Another great day for Irish rugby as the mens sevens team qualified for this summers Olympic Games in Tokyo by defeating France in the final of the Monaco 7s. Anyone that knows anything about rugby will know that sevens is a very different sport from full on 15’s rugby. The level of running required and fitness is insane and there are a lot more teams than usual that wouldn’t be good at 15’s rugby, so the level of achievement from these lads today should not be underestimated and a big well done to all those lads, Tokyo here we go.

Ahhh lads. I could not be happier for that group of players. Incredible achievement and in some style. Tough luck to France that’s the cruel side of sport. Special group 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼@IrishRugby #Ireland7s pic.twitter.com/rdAVr1vUsO
