Irish jockey Eddie Creighton has been placed in an induced coma after a fall at Warrnambool racecourse in Australia.

Creighton, who won two Pattern races when formerly based in Britain, was riding The Walrus when the horse stumbled shortly after the start, unseating Creighton in the process.

He was concious after the fall and was initially reported to have sustained a suspected broken arm and concussion, but his condition deteriorated at Warrnambool Base Hospital and he has been transferred to Melbourne for further treatment.
