Electric Picnic took place at the weekend in county Laois in the Midlands of Ireland. The Irish band the Wolfe Tones has a massive turn out when they hit the main stage.
As the videos are doing the rounds of the crowds singing along, there was a few times where “Ooh, ahh, up the RA” was being sung ..

There is huge, widespread support across all of Ireland, not just for the @wolfetones, but for the Rebel tunes they have championed for decades. A key part of our history & culture, we will continue to sing our songs of Nationhood & resistance despite the sensibilities of some. https://t.co/mBsnlbiINo

You won't achieve Irish Unity by mocking the trauma of a significant minority on this island. https://t.co/xZzA4WCLxf

Unionism want us to stop singing a song while they have a full month celebrating pure sectarianism,I don’t thinkso guys!!
Maybe they can fuck off to England where their loyalty lies. They should never have been here, the plantation still working to this day
I presume you don’t advocate the chanting of… from the river to the sea… by the Irish pro Hamas Palestine demonstraters!
Irish people singing songs in an Irish field didn’t begin with Brexit. Irish reunification started with a British referendum to leave the European Union.
I can understand the anti British thing but sadly the RA murdered thousands of innocent people as did loyalist paras and that wasn’t right either. The day’s of glorifying murder and terrorism should be past or what hope do our children have???
WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENS IN WAR…..PEOPLE KISSING AND HUGGING?????
It’s literally just a song get over it
It’s a song lyric. Nobody even remembers the Royal Arch anyway
