Sam Allardyce is a former League of Ireland manager and player, believe it not, having started his managerial career with Limerick FC many years ago, since then the Bolton man has gone on to manage some big clubs, including managing the England football team.
The former Everton manager is now trending on twitter today as a possible replacement for Stephen Kenny if the FAI decide to part ways with the former Dundalk manager. Would Big Sam be a good fit for this Irish team? He certainly knows how to get results against the big teams.

My favourite take in the Ireland discourse is the nonsense that is the 'Kenny proves a LOI manager can't cut it at this level so let's get Big Sam' take
Big Sam, of course, a former LOI manager who the debt-ridden FAI couldn't afford in a million years
