Graham Potter reaffirms that he said he will try and win Chelsea the Champions League after getting Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea were drawn against the 14-time European champions yesterday in the quarter-finals, with Bayern Munich or Manchester City in waiting if they beat the Spanish giants.
When asked in his conference yesterday whether he thinks he can guide Chelsea to European glory, Potter responded: “I said we would try to win the Champions League and I’m sure that’s the same for the other seven clubs as well.
“We will focus on Real Madrid when we get there, but at the moment it’s Everton.”
Potter remained coy when he was prompted for his thoughts on whether the English teams left in the competition had been hard done by, saying: “Not really. We’re excited about the challenge but I’d rather speak about Everton because Real Madrid is still a long way away.”
