It’s with extremely sadness that we report that Tipperary senior hurler Dillon Quirke has sadly passed away at the age of 24! Dillon Quirke collapsed during a Tipperary Senior Hurling game with his club yesterday evening and got medical attention on the pitch straight away.
Before being transferred to Tipperary University Hospital by ambulance where he passed away.
When something like this happens it brings the whole GAA community together and the tributes that have poured in for this young man have been incredible.
All hurling championship games scheduled for this weekend in Tipperary are to be postponed as a mark of respect.

Dillon Quirke of Clonoulty-Rossmore required medical attention and was stretchered from the field of play just before half-time resulting in their game against Kilruane MacDonaghs to be abandoned.
