The GAA community in Kilkenny are in shock this morning with the passing of Kilmacow club man Luke Harney.
Harney (33) took ill during a GAA training session on Friday evening and sadly passed away in University Hospital of Waterford on Sunday night, according to Kilkenny People.
“It is with unbearable sadness that we must share the terrible news that our beloved teammate, club member and friend Luke Harney has passed away,” a club spokesperson said.
“There are no words that will help at a time like this. Our thoughts are with Tash and his 2 little girls and all his family, friends, and teammates.
“As a group and a club, we will stay strong together in these worst of times. He was our leader, and we will miss him incredibly,” they added.
“All Kilmacow club activity will be postponed this coming week until further notice while we mourn the loss of Luke.
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam,” the spokesperson concluded.
