Never realised until last few yrs the stranglehold county “development” teams are having on under age players playing for their club. U15 and U16 players getting told by respective county development team management that not alone can they not play the other code until Late Summer championship but they can’t even play for their club.

Just lost 7 girls on our U16 football team to county development Camoige team and something similar at boys U15 …..since when did some Mickey Mouse county development team have priority over your club team? The GAA is your club,if you undervalue your club participation at underage level what hope they will feel affinity towards the club structure in the future ….. county development should be a perk / a niche game at underage level ,it should not be taking over from playing for your club until you get to at least minor level …
