Eddie Hearn has claimed that Dillian Whyte will not be saying a word to Tyson Fury until the pair fight later in the year.
Fury confirmed via his social media channels last week that he has agreed to fight Whyte, rather than pursuing an undisputed bout with unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
However, we had no confirmation from Whyte’s side that the fight was going to materialise. That was, until Eddie Hearn confirmed that Whyte had accepted the proposal.
Still, it’s bizarre that we haven’t heard a peep from Whyte, with the Jamaican-born fighter set for the biggest bout of his life and his long-awaited heavyweight title shot.

Hearn has now revealed, though, that we shouldn’t expect to hear anything from Whyte for the foreseeable. He is refusing to be dragged into the war of words with Fury.
Eddie Hearn: “Tyson Fury wants interaction, he’s goading him, he wants to see a reaction. Maybe Dillian Whyte won’t say a thing until the fight. You haven’t just gotta play people’s tunes, Dillian’s never gonna play anyone’s tune. I think it’s quite funny.” [@IFLTV]

Of course, Whyte will have to be in attendance at the necessary press events and we’ll hear from him then, but you can expect his social media blackout to continue…
