Eddie Hearn confirms Dillian Whyte’s stance over Tyson Fury fight proposal

Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Dillian Whyte will be accepting the opportunity to fight Tyson Fury for the WBC heavyweight title.

Whyte has had to remain patient for his opportunity to fight for a world title. His status as WBC mandatory challenger has put him in pole position to fight Tyson Fury, who is coming off the back of his trilogy triumph over Deontay Wilder.

While there was a question mark over whether this fight would come to fruition, Tyson Fury confirmed via social media last week that he had decided to grant Whyte the opportunity to take his belt from him.

Still, we are yet to have heard anything from Whyte’s side of negotiations. He has been silent throughout, which left fans wondering whether he had bottled the chance to become a world champion.

Apparently not, though, with Eddie Hearn having confirmed that Whyte WILL be fighting Fury.

The WBC have set a deadline of February 21st for the contracts to be signed, so all parties involved ought to get a wriggle on as they look to pencil this bout in for April of this year.
