Eddie Hearn calls out radio host for charity boxing match

Eddie Hearn has challenged Simon Jordan to a fight after being branded a ‘coward’ over his handling of the Conor Benn fiasco.

Hearn has been in the midst of the drama which provoked the cancellation of Benn’s proposed fight with long-time rival Chris Eubank Jr.

Benn tested positive for a banned substance and was subsequently banned from boxing. Hearn has been in his corner, defending his fighter.

Simon Jordan, speaking on talkSPORT, criticised Hearn, branding him a ‘coward’ for not coming on his show to face interrogation over Benn.

Hearn has now fired back at Jordan. Quoted by the Mirror, he suggested that the pair get into the ring and settle their differences in a fight.

“He’s had a very brutal fall from grace, but he’s very good at his new job on the radio and I think he’s there to be controversial. I never have a problem answering his questions.”

“I think we should have a fight. I reckon he can’t fight at all, I can’t fight – I think it’d be unbelievable. We’ll do it for charity, then we’ll have a debate after. I’ve got a broken finger, but I’ll still fight.”

For many years, people have been calling for Hearn to step through the ropes and fight for himself. Could this finally be his opportunity to answer those calls?
