Lewis Hamilton’s brother has taken to Instagram to slam the FIA and declare the Mercedes driver as the “true champion” of the 2021 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton was royally stitched by the stewards in the final lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, having held a healthy lead in the race prior to Nicholas Latifi’s crash and the subsequent safety car.
Race director Michael Masi felt it appropriate to make up rules on the spot as we entered the final lap of the Formula 1 season – one which would ultimately determine the world champion.
It has prompted outrage from Hamilton and Mercedes fans, as well as Formula 1 neutrals who have grown tired of the FIA’s inconsistency and neglect for the rules they wrote themselves.
One man who is as angry as anyone, as you’d probably have expected, is Hamilton’s brother, Nicolas, who took to Instagram to brand the FIA a “disgrace” and declare Lewis as the “true champion.”

“THE TRUE CHAMPION!”
“The FIA broke their own rules, which is a disgrace to our whole sport. Nevertheless, regardless of being mistreated today, the Hamilton’s were humble in defeat.”
“My father, the guy who raised us, congratulating Max & his father Jos. People can say what they like, but my Father’s gesture proves all of the doubters & haters wrong & shows who we are as ‘The Hamilton’s’.”
“Proving people wrong is in our DNA, which Lewis does on a daily basis. With utter professionalism & decency in defeat, even though we all know, that he was let down by the sport that he has given so much to.”
“Congratulations to Max for such a fantastic season from him.”
We can only hope that Lewis Hamilton is able to recover from the theft he suffered at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and returns stronger and hungrier for next season. He will still have that eighth World Championship in his sights…
