Philippe Coutinho was recently interrupted by gunshots during an interview.

The scary incident took place on Wednesday during a media day at Vasco da Gama’s Moacyr Barbosa Training Centre.

Vasco midfielder Nuno Moreira and goalkeeper Leo Jardim were also completing their media duties when the gunshots took place.

The club officials have confirmed, per The Express, that such sounds of gunfire are a common incident due to routine police operations.

Coutinho also appeared relaxed about the situation. He laughed off before continuing the interview.

The Brazilian is currently contracted at Aston Villa following his move from Barcelona.

The 32-year-old made just two substitute appearances last season, and his £17 million move to Villa Park hasn’t worked out well.

He spent the second half on loan at Al-Duhail in Qatar, registering eight goals and four assists in 23 games.

Coutinho is currently enjoying his time at Vasco, but it is not clear whether he will stay at the Brazilian club permanently.

He is unlikely to play for Villa again, having managed just six goals and three assists in 43 appearances for the Midlands club.

Coutinho spent his best form of his life at Liverpool, where he scored 54 goals and provided 44 assists in 201 games.

Barcelona signed him for a club-record £142m in 2018, but he turned out to be a massive flop for them.
