Pep Guardiola slapped back at Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s claims that his ego could hamper Erling Haaland’s development.
Zlatan, who worked with Pep during his brief stint as a Barcelona player, has never shied away from criticising the Spaniard in the public eye.
For us, Guardiola is the best manager on the planet and the greatest of his generation, but Ibrahimovic does not hold the same opinion of the Manchester City boss.
Zlatan’s latest criticism of Guardiola was around his apparent ego, which the Swede believed hampered his development as a player – he has warned Haaland that he could suffer the same fate.
It’s hard to imagine exactly how working under Guardiola could hamper anyone’s development, but it’s safe to say that the man himself does not agree with Zlatan.
When quizzed on the subject by the press, Guardiola slapped back at Ibrahimovic, joking about how jealous he is every time that Haaland scores a hat-trick and gets the credit.
This is very well dealt with by Pep – Zlatan might think again next time…
