Harriet Robson’s father has released a statement on the allegations made against his daughter’s boyfriend Mason Greenwood.
Robson has been hailed for her courage and bravery after sharing photo, video and audio evidence of the Manchester United star’s alleged abuse throughout their relationship.
Greenwood has been suspended by Man United as a consequence of the content that has been shared, with his future in football likely to be determined by the outcome of Greater Manchester Police’s investigation.
Despite the football world rightfully pulling together in outrage against his alleged contemptible actions, the father of the alleged victim does not appear to have the same view.
“The first thing we knew about this was at 6am this morning. It is dreadful. I’m just coming to terms with it all.”
“As a father you don’t want to know things like that happening to your daughter. The police have been round and she has made a statement to them.”
“She has told us her phone has been hacked. We told her to take it down, which she has done but it’s out there now so it is too late.”
“She is devastated because she didn’t want it released. We have known him since the under 21s. He has been part of our family for two or three years.”

First of all, the claim that Robson had her Instagram is hacked is new information. Her father understands that it was NOT her who shared the content to her story.
He also confirms that he has now made a statement to the police, the nature of which is unknown.
We can’t help but find it slightly bizarre that he describes them as “very much in love” soon after allegations came to light that Greenwood was abusing his daughter.
We understand that he will be in shock and perhaps hasn’t chosen his words so carefully, but he stops short of condemning Greenwood’s alleged actions.
It’s slightly puzzling, isn’t it?
