Greek footballer Nikos Tsoumanis has been found dead in his car with a murder investigation set to be launched by the police, reports The Sun.
It’s truly heartbreaking when the football world loses any player, manager or other member of staff. It’s all the more tragic when they are just 31-years-old at the time of their passing.
In Tsoumanis’ case, there’s an added flavour of disgust, with The Sun reporting that the left-back is believed to have been murdered after being found dead in his car.

The report notes that police suspect he was suffocated, with an investigation having been launched into who is responsible for Tsoumanis’ alleged murder.
It’s devastating and infuriating in equal measure. We can only hope that the police’s investigation proves fruitful and the person, or people, responsible for his murder are identified and punished in due course.
Our thoughts go out to Tsoumanis’ loved ones in will be an unthinkably difficult time.
