Graeme Souness admits that Manchester United can win the Premier League but he doubts that it will actually happen.

The Red Devils are currently third in the Premier League and after their 3-0 win on Sunday afternoon, are within touching distance of Manchester City.

With 15 games left to play, they are most definitely in the running for the league title.

But speaking before kick-off, Souness said that he ‘doubts’ it will actually happen and that it will rely on several factors.

‘It’s not impossible, I very much doubt it. I think several things would have to happen. City and Arsenal would have to have an incredible collapse, they’d have to fall off a cliff. I don’t think that will happen.’ he said.

‘From United’s point of view for them to continue to win games they have to keep their main man fit and that’s Marcus Rashford – 22 goals already this year, five goals last year. He isn’t finished. Keep him fit and they have a chance.

‘But Arsenal and Man City, they’re not going to collapse, not in that manner.’

  1. They don’t have to “collapse” just a few bad results but United would have to keep winning and beat the two ahead.
