Aston Villa fans have lost faith in manager Steven Gerrard – who is now on the brink of being sacked, reports the Daily Mail.
Villa fans were not best pleased with the club’s hierarchy when they made the controversial decision to sack their previous manager Dean Smith.
When Gerrard was appointed as his successor, with only experience in the SPL on his C.V, naturally there were eyebrows raised within the Villa fanbase.
Unfortunately for all parties involved, it hasn’t been a move that has proven fruitful for anyone, with Gerrard’s Villa monumentally underperforming.
According to the Daily Mail, he now heads into Villa’s tussle with Chelsea this weekend on the verge of being handed his marching orders.
The report notes that the Villa fan base have lost faith in Gerrard’s capabilities and those making the decisions at the club are following suit.
It’s a shame that Gerrard has been unable to replicate his heroic on-pitch antics in the dugout, but that’s oftentimes how things work out, sadly…
