🚨 George Groves predicts how a Carl Froch vs Joe Calzaghe fight would have played out

George Groves has given his take on a fantasy Carl Froch vs Joe Calzaghe fight.

Groves famously shared the ring with β€˜The Cobra’ twice. Losing the first bout due to a controversial stoppage from Howard Foster.

In the rematch Froch ended the bout and his career in sensational fashion rendering Groves unable to continue infront of around 80,000 fans at Wembley stadium – or so Froch likes to remind us.

And Groves was asked by Grosvenor Casinos to predict how a fight between Froch and Calzaghe may have played out and he went against his old pal and backed the Welshman to get the win.

He said: β€œEven Froch would say that he couldn’t match Joe Calzaghe for hand speed, punch output, or endurance. He’d have to punch with him and he’d back himself to do so. Calzaghe got off the floor to win in the past, so if you can catch him, he can go.”

β€œAlso Froch is an underrated boxer, he had a very good, long jab and he was awkward with his hands low. There was no quit in him and he carries power to the late rounds.

β€œOn their best nights you’d say Calzaghe could keep him off, but it wouldn’t be a foregone conclusion.”

β€œl’d pick Calzaghe on hand speed and footwork, creating angles and never letting Froch set.”
