Limerick took on Henry Shefflin’s Galway last night at the Gaelic grounds and the Limerick forward Gearóid Hegarty saw a straight red card for a dirty swing of his hurl on a Galway player. The referee was left with no choice but to send him straight off. The Tribesmen won the game on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-27 points. See the incident below, the commentators and panel on RTE weren’t happy with the man from St. Patrick’s club.

Thank god RTE called out Hegarty on his record of filthy swipes. No matter how good a hurler someone is, there’s no defending what he did and what some Limerick players have done in in matches over the last 2/3 years
