The former Barcelona and English striker stepped away from BT Sport last year citing that he wanted to spend more time with his family. The Match of the Day presenter however has made an agreement to present coverage of Spanish soccer on LaLigaTV.

‘I’m thrilled to become a part of LaLigaTV, a channel I’ve watched every weekend for the last two seasons,’ said Lineker.

‘I have fond memories of my time playing in Spain and very much look forward to sharing the excitement of La Liga with viewers in the UK and elsewhere.’
