Gareth Bale could retire from football and pursue career as professional golfer

Gareth Bale could quit football if successful in terminating his contract with Real Madrid, according to ABC.

Bale, who had an uphill task to prove his worth having returned to Spurs, with Jose Mourinho not ever really considering him a sure starter, finished the campaign with 11 goals and two assists.

The Welshman looked back to his very best on several occasions last campaign, proving that he still has plenty left in the tank at 31-years-old.

However, if ABC are to be believed, the upcoming European Championships could be the last we ever see of Gareth Bale in professional football.

Gareth Bale holds a banner which reads ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.’

The Spanish publication claim that Bale is working on terminating his Real Madrid contract, and if successful, may decide to hang up his boots.

There is suggestion that Bale is no longer enjoying being a professional footballer and all it entails, and may decide to pursue a career as a professional golfer instead.

It would be a dear shame for Bale to leave the game with so much left to offer, but if his heart isn’t in it, he deserves to move on and do something more fruitful.
