Gabriel Jesus suffers knee injury that could keep him out for EXTENDED period of time

Gabriel Jesus’ World Cup has come to a premature end, as the Arsenal striker has been ruled out of action with a knee injury.

The 25-year old started his first World Cup match against Cameroon on Friday after substitute appearances against Serbia and Switzerland but was brought off after 64 minutes against the African side with the injury.

The former Manchester City man will now miss a suspected three months, a huge blow for his club side Arsenal, who will now need to adapt in the Brazilian’s absence.

Jesus has five goals and five assists in the league this season, a contribution to around 30% of Arsenal’s league goals this year, so it will be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta deals with the loss of his star man.

With the knockouts about to begin for Tite’s Brazil side, all the pressure will be on Richarlison now to continue to lead the line, the Tottenham striker already registering two goals in this year’s tournament.
