Chelsea attempted to hijack Gabriel Jesus’ transfer to Arsenal – but the player reportedly SNUBBED a move to Stamford Bridge.

Following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, Thomas Tuchel has been left without a conventional number nine within his ranks.

The summer transfer window offers an opportunity for Chelsea to change that, with multiple renowned strikers appearing on the market.

One of those was Gabriel Jesus, who moved from Manchester City to Arsenal. Chelsea are understood to have tried to hijack that deal.

You imagine that a reunion with Mikel Arteta was the primary motivator behind Jesus’ decision to leave the Champions League and join Arsenal.

Chelsea are expected to be in contention for the Premier League and Champions League once again. The same cannot be said for Arsenal.

Ultimately, time will tell if Jesus made the right decision or if he has left arguably the best team on the planet to climb aboard a sinking ship.
