🚨Tragic news coming out of the West of Ireland this morning 🙏🕊️

Awful news coming out of the West of Ireland as Castlebar native Matthew Mullahy died on Saturday 27 January as his community, and the wider GAA and Irish soccer communities united in grief as news emerged.

Matthew Mullahy, was a seriously talented sports person and was one to watch in the GAA.

Some of his clubs left some lovely messages.

Castlebar Mitchels:  “All at Castlebar Mitchels are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our member Matthew Mullahy RIP.

“Matthew was a very talented player and a great team-mate who played on our underage teams all the way up through the club. He played a pivotal role in the club winning a county U16A title in 2020. Last season he played on our U21 and Junior teams with the style and flair that he always brought to the game.”

Castlebar Celtic FC: “We are devastated at the news of Matthew’s death. Matthew was part of Castlebar Celtics U21 and Superleague squads this season.”
