The former GAA President and member of the European parliament Sean Kelly took to his twitter today to point out the obvious .. The absolute state of Gaelic football, the turnout for the quarter-finals at the weekend was shocking and what was on the pitch was worse ..
Have a look at some of the comments below ..

I presume players are enjoying playing ‘modern’ Gaelic football but, sadly, for more & more people I speak to, it’s not a ‘spectator’ sport anymore. 😓😥 Surgery needed & quick ! pic.twitter.com/mSmIr0RVPG

Thank god we have hurling. A polar opposite game to football. Even a dull hurling game can be exciting
It has turned into a slow and boring version of Basketball. A shot clock when a team goes into the other 45 is needed. This constant recycling of possession is awful to watch.Sad to watch Kerry yesterday…but suppose it all about result..fans voting with their feet must be serious worry for GAA …I feel disappointed for derry because they looked like the team of the future last year and should have beaten kerry in the semi finals it might be interesting times in derry gaa circles over the next few months Sean!
